Although the presidential election is five years away, various political party profiles have emerged in some polls as possible presidential candidates.

However, other figures outside of politics have been gaining ground in the public eye, such as businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego, who in an interview with Código Magenta didn’t rule out seeking the presidency.

“It’s not something I’m actively seeking because my vocation is different. But, also, at the same time, I say: if we don’t do something for the future of our country, our children, our grandchildren, our great-grandchildren will demand it from us (…) And if necessary, then I’ll do whatever it takes. But, no, I’m not so sure that the conditions are in place for me to be a winning candidate,” he said.

In this context, a Territorial survey found that 71.2% of respondents would vote for Salinas Pliego if he ran for President of Mexico in 2030.

According to the survey, 18.7% of respondents would not vote for Salinas Pliego, while 10.1% would consider it.

Recently, another Massive Caller survey found that 33.8% of people (one-third of the sample) would support a hypothetical candidacy of the businessman.
