The Mazatlán Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism, and Art today opened the call for entries to participate in the 2026 Mazatlán International Carnival Queen Election competition. The current monarch, Lucero I, read the call and, with great emotion, shared her personal experience to motivate future participants.

During the press conference, held at the Museum of Music, Lucero I described the reign as a “very beautiful experience that will fill your soul.” Through her words, she highlighted the profound personal growth she has experienced, overcoming fears and insecurities. She is now a different person after going through this adventure, she affirmed.

The sovereign emphasized that being queen is a constant challenge, full of discipline and love, and encouraged women to participate to represent Mazatlan culture. “I invite you to participate in this beautiful experience, to represent this culture that fills our souls and that the people of Mazatlán will respond to with the same love you offer,” she concluded, highlighting the unconditional support she has received from the people.
