Within the framework of the “National Meeting on Biofuels and their Blends,” the Tamaulipas Energy Development Secretariat (Sedener) signed an agreement with Green Bauen, a subsidiary of Grupo Águila, to begin the work that will allow for the development of a biofuels plant in the state.
The agreement was signed by the Secretary of Energy Development, Walter Julián Ángel Jiménez, and the founder of Green Bauen, Juan Ruperto Rodríguez Zárate, with the goal of establishing a contractual relationship that lays the foundation for the creation of a biorefinery in Tamaulipas, consolidating the state as a national leader in clean energy production.
Ángel Jiménez emphasized that this agreement is a firm step toward the energy transition, as it materializes commitments between the state government and the private sector to ensure the project is carried out during the administration of Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya.
“The agreement already establishes the commitments of both the State Government and the private sector to carry out this project, bring it to fruition, and ensure its continuity within the agreed timeframe, which is the term of Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya,” the official stated.
He also specified that the biorefinery will involve the participation of 100% Tamaulipas-based companies, which will strengthen the local economy and generate employment and specialized opportunities in the energy sector, with a direct impact on regional development.
