During September, Wills’ Month in Mexico, Tamaulipas’ public notaries are working together with local and state authorities to offer discounts on the preparation of this document.
In this regard, Raúl César González, president of the Matamoros College of Public Notaries, invited the community to take advantage of this opportunity, where residents can visit the municipality’s public notaries.
By mutual agreement, the notaries in this border city established a 50 percent discount on will processing; that is, the average cost will be 3,000 pesos during September 2025.
Percentage of Mexicans with Wills is Low
The president of the Matamoros College of Public Notaries mentioned that, unfortunately, the percentage of people who make wills is extremely low.
It is estimated that, nationally, only between 6 and 8 percent of people have this document.
In addition to inviting the community to take advantage of the opportunity, he emphasized that the requirements are simple and that notary offices in Tamaulipas will offer free advice on the subject during the month of September.
