Agents from the Tamaulipas Attorney General’s Office shot at a family on Thursday night in the Carlos Cantú neighborhood of Reynosa, killing a minor.
According to official information, officers opened fire on a Volkswagen vehicle carrying a family of two adults and a 7-year-old child from Victoria.
Upon arriving in Reynosa, the family heard gunshots, and officers first fired at the vehicle’s tires and then at its occupants.
A bullet grazed the father in the face, his wife was hit twice in the arm, and the minor was shot in the head.
However, when officers approached and saw that it was a family and there were no weapons in the vehicle, they apologized, saying they had “been confused.”
Meanwhile, the adults were taken for medical attention.
