The State Civil Protection Coordination issued a precautionary rain advisory this Wednesday, September 10.
The alert applies to the municipalities of Guasave, Juan José Ríos, Angostura, Mocorito, Salvador Alvarado, and Navolato.
A statement alerted the public about possible risks on roads and low-lying areas.
Authorities urged citizens to take extra precautions while traveling, as well as when crossing streets and streams, to avoid accidents.
Finally, Civil Protection asked the public to pay attention only to official announcements issued in the coming hours.
Heavy rains expected in the state: Conagua
According to the National Water Commission (Conagua), the Mexican monsoon and a mid-level cyclonic circulation developing south of the Gulf of California will cause very heavy rainfall in Nayarit, Sinaloa, and Durango; heavy rainfall in Baja California Sur and Sonora; and showers in Chihuahua.
Heavy rain with very heavy rainfall (50 to 75 mm): Sinaloa, Durango, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Morelos, State of Mexico, Campeche, and Yucatán.
