Insecurity, violence, and polarization “make Mexico hurt,” says the Church

The Catholic Church called for unity to confront situations caused by insecurity, violence, corruption, or polarization that “make Mexico hurt.”

In the editorial “From Faith,” the Archdiocese of Mexico stated that the country “knows how to rise up when it decides to work together.” It clarified that it is not speaking of uniformity, “which nullifies, but of plural unity, which allows for dissent without destroying one another and for joining hands for what is essential.”

The Archdiocese emphasized that in the parishes there is openness to dialogue and community outreach with young people and those who need us most.

Unity combats the ills that afflict society, courage to not normalize extortion or conform to “this is how it is here”; and temperance in the face of polarization that reduces everything to factions, it affirmed.
