The Cervantes Circuit will be presented in four cities in Guanajuato: León, Irapuato, Celaya, and San Miguel de Allende, which together will offer more than 26 different activities.

Lizeth Galván Cortés, head of the Secretariat of Culture of the state of Guanajuato, specified that this year the presentations will last 19 days in the four aforementioned cities, where almost 60% of the offerings will be free.

“This is how we all work together to showcase Cervantes and truly touch the hearts of more and more people. We want culture to be closer to the people; it must become a human right, one that can be practiced with pride and equity. The Cervantes Circuit promotes cultural decentralization with a first-class program.”

Galván Cortés specified that there will be 17 venues from 15 countries participating in theater, clown, contemporary dance, and music in various genres.

Several universities will also participate as venues, such as the Universidad Iberoamericana and Universidad La Salle Bajío.

He noted that this year the Cervantes circuit will tour 11 states in Mexico with 40 venues featuring artists from various countries and states, especially Veracruz and the United Kingdom, as guests of honor.

Celaya will feature headline acts such as Los Descarados and Channel One Soundsystem, as well as theater performances in Xochipilli Park, the city theater, and the Tresguerras Auditorium.

In Irapuato, there will be concerts, among the most notable being a tribute to Toña la Negra, in addition to the participation of the Colombian group Victoria Sur and a Mexican harp ensemble.

In San Miguel de Allende, Kora Flamenca will be presented, fusing African, Canadian, and Mexican rhythms.
