Armed attacks against three bars in different municipalities in the northern part of the state of Veracruz left at least four people dead and several more injured.

During the night of September 22, two employees of the “La Brocheta” bar lost their lives after several gunshots were heard inside the building; another man was injured.

Members of the Public Security Secretariat and the Veracruz State Attorney General’s Office arrived at the scene to carry out legal proceedings and recover the bodies.

That same night, at the “Maryboo” bar in the municipality of Álamo de Temapache, one more person died after an attack perpetrated by armed men who opened fire on the bar.

According to unofficial information, the victim of the attack was a Public Transportation officer; a DJ and the business owner were also injured by gunfire and were taken to a nearby hospital.

On the morning of Tuesday, September 23, armed men stormed the “Copa de Oro” bar in the municipality of Cerro Azul, killing a woman who was present.

It should be noted that to date, neither the Veracruz state government authorities nor the State Attorney General’s Office have released any official information related to these events.

Recently, the municipalities where these attacks took place have been marked by violence and insecurity, with situations such as the discovery of dismembered bodies, executions, and suspension of public events to protect citizens.
