Chilpancingo-Tlapa highway blocked to demand teachers’ participation in Chilapa

Teachers and parents from several schools in the municipality of Chilapa blocked the Chilpancingo-Tlapa highway near the town of Ayahualulco to demand teachers for three hours.

The blockade began at 7:00 a.m. and was led by parents and teachers from the Guerrero State Coordinator of Education Workers (CETEG) from the Central region.

The protesters demanded teachers at five schools located in the communities of Santana, Tepehuizco, and El Amate Amarillo in Chilapa.

The parents reported that elementary school children have not had classes for three weeks due to a teacher shortage.
