The Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office confirmed that after locating six people originally from Nayarit who had been reported missing in the state capital, the victims were handed over to authorities in their home state this Wednesday in an operation coordinated with the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Search for Missing Persons and the Executive Commission for Victim Assistance.
Attorney General Raciel López Salazar acknowledged the inter-institutional work that led to the discovery, noting that the investigation remains open to identify those responsible for the incidents and locate other missing persons, in collaboration with the Nayarit Attorney General’s Office.
Prior to their return to Nayarit, three of the victims communicated via video call with their families to confirm their health status.
For its part, the Nayarit Attorney General’s Office reported that Nayarit authorities traveled to Quintana Roo to receive them and accompany them on their return trip. Upon arrival in Tepic, they were welcomed by their families, and localization protocols were subsequently implemented to comply with legal requirements, allowing for their family reunification.
