The combination of sun, beach, and mountains is once again the perfect setting to welcome runners from across the country to the ninth edition of the Xtrail Ixtapa Zihuatanejo on October 18th, an event that has established itself as one of the most important trail running events in Mexico.
With distances of 8, 13, 17, and 25 kilometers, the event offers challenges for different levels of runners. In addition to competing, they can enjoy the region’s natural beauty, its trails, and the unique landscapes that make this destination a benchmark for sports tourism.
The goal of this edition is to strengthen the bond between Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and the trail running community, promoting the destination not only as a beach destination but also as a venue for high-level sporting experiences.
Jorge Duck, organizer of Xtrail Mexico, stated that, “With Xtrail, we have found a formula that unites sport, nature, and tourism, consolidating Ixtapa Zihuatanejo as a key destination on the national trail running calendar.”

In this regard, Pedro Castelán Reyna, executive director of the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Convention and Visitors Bureau, emphasized that “it is a source of pride for our destination to once again host Xtrail, an event that promotes sports and simultaneously boosts tourism.
