With the goal of strengthening collaborative ties and strengthening air connectivity in the state, Simón Quiñones Orozco, head of the Guerrero Tourism Secretariat (SECTUR), met with Enrique Javier Beltranena, CEO of Volaris, accompanied by Lizette Tapia Castro, mayor of Zihuatanejo, as well as vice presidents and executives of the airline.
Representing Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda, the head of SECTUR thanked the Volaris board of directors for their visit to Hogar del Sol and emphasized the importance of consolidating strategic alliances that drive tourism growth in Guerrero.
As part of this visit, a tour of various attractions in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo was provided. The strengthening of air connectivity to this destination was highlighted, and new initiatives were proposed to expand routes to Acapulco, particularly from Querétaro and Cancún, with the goal of diversifying the offering and attracting a greater number of domestic and international visitors.
The state official emphasized that these actions strengthen the promotion of Guerrero’s tourist destinations and reaffirm the state government’s commitment to continue creating conditions for economic and tourism development for the benefit of the people of Guerrero.
