On Monday afternoon, a large stretch of Avenida Zarco, one of the capital’s busiest thoroughfares, was closed to traffic due to the filming of scenes for the movie Centurión, a Netflix original production being filmed in various locations throughout the city.

The closure extended from 42nd to 52nd Street, where a set was set up with technical equipment, cameras, production vehicles, and support staff. According to sources close to the project, some of the film’s key sequences will take place in this area, requiring complete road control.

To ensure the safety of both the production crew and motorists and pedestrians, Municipal Police and Highway Patrol officers deployed a special operation that included securing the area, closing access roads, and diverting traffic to alternate streets.

The filming attracted the attention of neighbors and passersby, who came to observe the movement of trucks, cameras, and props, as well as the logistics deployed. Some took the opportunity to capture photographs and videos of the filming environment, which generated excitement on social media.

The presence of the Netflix production in Chihuahua has been seen as an opportunity to promote the city as an international film location, in addition to representing an economic benefit for local providers of lodging, food, transportation, and technical services that are indirectly involved in the project.
