The deadline to adjust the User Transaction Amount (MTU) in your Banorte app was September 30th. If you missed it and need to make the adjustment, don’t worry, you can do so easily.
On October 1st, if you didn’t change the amount, your bank automatically set it to 12,360 pesos, in the case of Banorte.
Why should you adjust your MTU with Banorte?
According to the measure established by the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) and published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), starting October 1st, your bank will set a limit on your online banking transactions.
This limit is 1,500 Investment Units (UDIs), equivalent to about 12,800 pesos, but Banorte indicated that it would set it at 12,360 pesos.
The MTU defines the maximum amount of money you can transfer to third parties daily through your app. If this limit doesn’t fit your needs, it’s crucial to change it so you can continue with your electronic transactions, such as SPEI, Dimo, or CoDi transfers.
How do I change the MTU in Banorte if I missed the deadline?
If you usually make transfers for amounts greater than the Banorte limit, you won’t be able to do so from your banking app. But don’t worry, your money is fine and you can access it, just not electronically.
If you haven’t exceeded this amount, the app will let you adjust the limit from there; just log in and follow the steps shown here.
However, if you’ve already exceeded it, you likely won’t be able to do so from your app; you’ll need to go to an ATM.
To do this, you’ll need to bring your physical debit card and insert it into the machine normally with your PIN. Next, look for the “Account Adjustment” option to adjust the transaction limit and set a different amount.
Confirm the adjustment and you’re done.
If you have any issues or further questions, we recommend contacting an account manager for guidance.
For which transactions will this limit apply?
The Banorte app indicates that this limit applies to:
Transfers to third parties
Credit card payments
Utility payments
Credit payments
Airtime purchases
International transactions
CoDi transactions
Dimo transactions
