In light of the recent incidents of insecurity in the states of Zacatecas and Sinaloa, the Durango Travel Agencies Association, through its president, Ana Karina Morales Gonzalez, called on the public to exercise extreme caution and, if possible, avoid traveling in the area at night and early in the morning. They also urged residents to monitor the announcements issued by the relevant authorities.
Certain times should be avoided; this is a suggestion made in light of recent events in the neighboring state, where roadblocks and vehicle fires were reported.

Karina Morales commented that situations of this magnitude have not occurred for months and hopes that things will return to normal as the days go by to ensure the safety of all travelers.
“We urge citizens who have upcoming trips to Zacatecas and Sinaloa to take all necessary precautions. Our main recommendation is to travel during the day and remain alert to official alerts and announcements,” Morales stated.
The president of the organization indicated that so far there are no reports of Durango residents affected by the events that occurred in these states. However, she emphasized the importance of avoiding nighttime or early morning trips to reduce risks.
The representative emphasized that, despite the circumstances, the flow of tourists continues, reflecting confidence in transportation routes and services, as long as appropriate safety measures are followed.
She also asked travel agencies and operators to maintain constant communication with travelers and provide updated information on road traffic conditions.
“Passenger safety is the most important thing. There are no reports of incidents involving Durango tourists, but we insist that responsible and planned travel is key to avoiding risks,” she emphasized.
Finally, Ana Karina emphasized that they will continue promoting responsible tourism, while also ensuring the safety of all involved.
