According to information from the National Seismological Service (SSN), the earthquake occurred at 5:04:45 p.m. (Mexico time) 34 km northwest of the municipality and had a depth of 139 km.

It is worth noting that, on the morning of October 5, a magnitude 4.1 earthquake was recorded southwest of Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas. The earthquake occurred at 10:06:19 a.m. (Mexico time), with an epicenter located 150 km southwest of the city and a depth of 10 km.
