The Plaza de la Danza was the stage for the presentation of the delegations from the Heroic City of Huajuapan de León, the Heroic City of Tlaxiaco, Santiago Juxtlahuaca, and San Miguel el Grande, in the Guelaguetza Ñuu Savi performance.

Hosted by Genoveva Medina’s Chinas Oaxaqueñas, the dances, music, and colorful costumes thrilled the audience as part of the Mole de Caderas Festival, held in Oaxaca City from October 10 to 12.

In this space, locals and visitors celebrated the cultural richness of the Mixteca region with a taste of the iconic mole de hips, a dish that reflects the knowledge of traditional cooks.

The exhibition served as a prelude to the traditional festival, which will take place in Huajuapan de León on October 11th at 1:00 PM, where this dish, which has made the Mixteca region famous nationally and internationally, will be presented. That same day, at 4:00 PM, the Cultural Festival will take place at the Municipal Palace.

The Guelaguetza Ñuu Savi will also take place in this district, this Saturday at the Fairgrounds at 6:00 PM, with the participation of the delegations from Tlaxiaco, Santiago Juxtlahuaca, San Juan Copala, Teotongo, Tamazulapam del Progreso, San Sebastián Tecomaxtlahuaca, San Pedro Pochutla, Putla Villa de Guerrero, and Huajuapan.

These actions are part of the efforts of the Oaxacan Spring Government, through the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur Oaxaca), to promote the state’s cultural expressions and foster tourism as a means of well-being.
