This has raised suspicions about whether the son of former President López Obrador is seeking to follow in the footsteps of his father and brother, “Andy” López Beltrán, in the world of politics.

In fact, both the residence of AMLO’s youngest son and his academic future were topics of conversation a few weeks ago due to speculation that he might move to Spain to study at the Complutense University of Madrid.

However, this version was denied by his mother, journalist and writer Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, who assured sources close to her family that they will continue to reside in Mexico.

Which university is Jesús Ernesto attending?

According to various media outlets, Jesús Ernesto López confirmed to the same source that he is already enrolled at a university in Mexico City and would study International Relations because he wants to be a diplomat.

In this context, which school does AMLO’s youngest son attend?

Jesús Ernesto López Gutiérrez is studying at the Intercontinental University (UIC). As we previously announced, starting this Wednesday he is participating in the 2025 Youth Parliament, organized by the Senate of the Republic.

In one of the images shared by the university, the 18-year-old can even be seen with his classmates.

The school offers enrollment benefits of up to 45% depending on the date you apply. Likewise, a monthly scholarship of up to 35% is offered, depending on the average.

For the Bachelor’s Degree in Law, the base list price for semester registration is 11,798 pesos; this amount would be repeated for four additional tuition fees, meaning that the first semester would cost a total of 58,990 pesos.

On the other hand, with the 35% scholarship applied, tuition would be 11,306 pesos.

As additional costs incurred by Interamerican University, a one-time mandatory reading workshop of 1,320 pesos must be covered.

There are also semester-long medical insurance costs of 2,550 pesos, and a financial support insurance of 990 pesos.

A second language like English costs 6,730 pesos, while parking per semester costs 4,100 pesos.
