Why is it important? Because one of the most popular holidays among Mexicans is approaching, and it’s essential to know the cultural offerings offered by the different states of the Republic.

There are only a few days left until the Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico. However, although the official date has not yet arrived, several states are already celebrating the event; among them, Michoacán, where attractive themed activities take place every day for locals and tourists.

What to do on Day of the Dead in Michoacán?

The state capital, Morelia, is one of the regions where many of the Day of the Dead-themed activities take place. Take note of the following:

“Guardians of Mictlán” Exhibition: on the pedestrian street “El Nigromante” until November 4.
Skull exhibition “Road to Mictlán”: at Plaza Natalio Vázquez Pallares until November 4.
Giant skull exhibition “Echoes of the Ephemeral”: at Bosque Cuauhtémoc and Calzada Fray Antonio de San Miguel until November 4.
Catrina exhibition “Eighth of Eternity”: at Boulevard García de León until November 4.
3rd Sugar Skull Festival: at Plaza Valladolid until October 26.
Balconies decorated on Madero Avenue with ornamentation alluding to the Day of the Dead: at Francisco I. Madero Avenue until November 4.
Miss Catrina Universe: October 25 at 7:00 PM at the Clavijero Cultural Center

When will the 2025 Catrina Parade be in Morelia?

According to the Michoacán government, the Morelia 2025 Catrinas and Catrines Parade will take place on November 1st, starting from Calzada Fray Antonio de San Miguel toward the Cathedral. The parade will depart at 6:00 p.m.

One of the largest offerings to be placed in Michoacán this year will be set up at the State Museum, located in the Historic Center of Morelia.

You can also visit the offering dedicated to Maestro Francisco Rodríguez Oñate, which will be on display from October 31st to November 3rd at the Museum of Colonial Art.

What to do in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, this Day of the Dead 2025?

As indicated by the State Secretariat of Culture, Pátzcuaro is one of the municipalities in Michoacán where several of the state’s most important Day of the Dead activities will take place. The list of activities includes the following:

Canoe trip to Janitzio Island: November 1
Kústakua Concert: November 2
Dance performance accompanied by the Tata K’eri Folkloric Ensemble: November 2
