The Marina Vallarta Residents Association is calling on hotel and condominium companies in the area to actively participate in the revolutionary graywater project, designed to irrigate the development’s green areas. This effort not only seeks to reduce drinking water consumption but also mitigate the environmental impact caused by the waste of this vital resource.
It’s important to remember that the corresponding agreement has already been signed with the municipal government and Seapal Vallarta, indicating that the graywater irrigation system is expected to begin operating in 2026. In fact, the work is progressing at a very good pace.
“The participation of hotel and condominium companies in this watershed project is very important, as it will leave a lasting environmental mark and will have a significant impact on sustainability in the region,” said Jorge Antonio García López, manager of the Residents Association.
The total investment in the project will amount to 18.4 million pesos, of which 4 million pesos will correspond to the Residents’ Association. A payment scheme has been established to fulfill this commitment. Hotels and condominiums will receive the water supply and will receive an additional benefit if they pay it in advance.
The Residents’ Association, chaired by Architect Enrique Camargo, emphasized that active participation in this project not only represents environmental responsibility but also an excellent economic opportunity for the hotels and condominiums of Marina Vallarta. By adopting more sustainable practices, a greener and more prosperous future will be guaranteed for both the community and the tourism sector.
In other words, it is a call to awareness and action, as your participation is key to significant change. The combined efforts will lead to building a more sustainable and responsible Marina Vallarta.
