The State Secretary of Tourism, Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado, announced that the first flight from Querétaro to Madrid will depart on December 20th.
This follows the announcement by the airline Iberojet that this new route will be offered from the Querétaro International Airport (AIQ).
She added that there has been a positive response from travelers, with 6,000 tickets already sold, 4,000 of which are one-day tickets and 2,000 round-trip tickets.
Vázquez Mellado noted that the flight from Querétaro will depart on December 20th at 1:00 a.m., and the flight from Madrid will arrive at 10:00 p.m.
She emphasized that contact has been made with tour operators to facilitate connections with tourists from Switzerland, France, and Italy via this flight, allowing for return trips from Madrid to Querétaro.
The head of the State Tourism Secretariat asserted that, through this new destination, tourism in Querétaro will increase, and consequently, tourism in the Bajío region will also increase.
