A yacht sank Monday night off the beach near the Pueblo Bonito hotel in Mazatlán after suffering a mechanical failure, according to authorities.
A total of 11 people were rescued, including adults, children, and crew members. Reports indicate they suffered no physical harm and only experienced shock.
So far in 2025, at least three incidents involving yachts and recreational vessels with mechanical failures or malfunctions have been recorded, and approximately 35 people have been rescued in these cases.
The accident was attended to by members of the Aquatic Rescue Squad and tourism service providers, who assisted those affected.
Paramedics from the Red Cross, Civil Protection, and various private hospitals arrived at the scene to provide medical attention, although ultimately no one required hospitalization.
