Mazatlán experiences a violent night with explosives and armed attacks

A violent night unfolded Tuesday in Mazatlán with attacks on three beer outlets, leaving at least four people injured, security officials reported.

This comes amidst a three-week-long increase in federal security presence.

In the last two months, six attacks on beer outlets have been recorded in different areas of the port city, resulting in one death, authorities confirmed.

The first attack occurred in the La Foresta neighborhood, south of the port, where the device was presumably detonated remotely. A woman was injured and taken to a hospital.

The second attack occurred minutes later in the Valle de Urías neighborhood, where two people were shot and taken to a hospital.

This establishment was attacked in October, and one of the two people injured at that time died the following day.

The third attack occurred in the Infonavit Alarcón neighborhood, where a man was seriously injured.

It was reported that another similar business was attacked in Ciudad Perdida, but this information was later dismissed.

Military deployments were reported in the Casa Redonda neighborhood, where another beer depot was reportedly attacked, but this too was not confirmed.

There were reports of helicopters flying overhead to assess the situation and determine if further attacks were occurring in other areas.
