Mazatlán awoke enveloped in revolutionary spirit. The Malecón, which every morning welcomes runners, cyclists, and the ebb and flow of traffic, was transformed into a vibrant corridor of color, music, and nostalgia to commemorate November 20, 1910, the 115th anniversary of the start of the Mexican Revolution.
A total of 54 civilian and military contingents transformed Avenida del Mar into a traditional festival that lasted more than two hours, keeping locals and tourists enjoying the spectacle from the front rows and even from hotel balconies. This year’s event was especially vibrant.
The parade kicked off with the joyful participation of children from the Municipal DIF System and senior citizens, setting the tone for a fluid and energetic event.
Mayor Estrella Palacios Domínguez, accompanied by civil and military authorities, emphasized the significance of the day for Mazatlán.
“We commemorated the 115th Anniversary of the start of the Mexican Revolution with the traditional sports parade. The values of our history inspire us toward a future of well-being for all,” he expressed.
The Mexican Navy led the way with sports demonstrations and the participation of its canine unit, which stole the show and drew applause.
Next came the traditional exhibition of the Merchant Marine Academy, with its maneuvers and formations that, as every year, stopped conversations and ignited cheers.
The Mexican Army and the National Guard continued the parade, followed by students of all educational levels.
Adelitas, revolutionaries, marching bands, floats, military vehicles, and even inflatable horses paraded along the coast, creating a festive scene on the Malecón.
Folklore was the undisputed star: flowing dresses, shawls, braids, boots, and the rhythmic footwork that echoed on the pavement.
Almost every school brought dance groups, transforming the avenue into a mosaic of colors and rhythms.
Participating institutions included COBAES, CETMAR, CBTIS, CETIS, UAdeO, UPES, ITMAZ, UPSIN, and UAS, as well as private schools such as UAD, Sinaloense, and ICO, each showcasing choreographies, rhythmic routines, and presentations inspired by figures from the Revolution.
The atmosphere was so captivating that tourists having breakfast by the sea peered out from their balconies, while locals remarked that the parade was more vibrant and lively than in previous years.
Mazatlán celebrated its history with music, tradition, and a sea of smiles that, amidst the waves and tricolor flags, made the Malecón an unforgettable setting.
