More than 8,000 international visitors arrived in Mazatlán this Wednesday aboard the ships Nieuw Amsterdam, Norwegian Jade, and Carnival Panorama.

Tourism service providers are hoping that many of these visitors will disembark during their stay in the port to explore the Historic Center, the beaches, the Malecón (boardwalk), and the Golden Zone, as well as to visit attractions and sites such as El Clavadista (The Cliff Diver), the Pino Suárez Market, the Cathedral, and the Plazuela Machado, among others.

They also expect a significant economic boost not only from these visitors exploring Mazatlán, but also from those visiting the Pueblos Herencias (Historic Towns) such as Copala, La Noria, and Concordia, thus revitalizing the surrounding towns with a tourism focus.

These three ships are carrying more than 8,600 passengers and 3,200 crew members, generating expectations of increased sales of products and services for businesses in the port’s economy.
