With the laying of the first stone of the Seascape San Carlos project, the port of Guaymas is strengthening its position as a tourist hub in the Northwest and becoming the preferred beach destination for visitors from Arizona and Chihuahua. Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño highlighted this as he presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for this condominium tower, which represents an investment of 1.8 billion pesos and will contribute to attracting new businesses and generating jobs in the state.
Durazo Montaño, accompanied by investment partners Luis Alejandro Charles Rubio and Eduardo Mellado Flores, emphasized that the well-being of the people of Sonora is his administration’s priority. He added that projects like this directly boost economic development, in addition to strengthening modern infrastructure for lodging for both domestic and international tourists.
“The fundamental objective of this project is the well-being of the people, and initiatives like these generate employment. There are two sectors that optimally democratize the distribution of wealth: tourism, because it employs a large number of people, and construction, because it also employs a large number of people. I celebrate developments like this; you can count on the full support of the State Government,” stated the governor.
The Seascape San Carlos complex is part of the investments that strengthen Sonora’s tourism competitiveness and propel the state toward sustained growth, reflected in more and better opportunities to improve the quality of life for its residents.
Those present at the event included Karla Córdova González, mayor of Guaymas; Roberto Gradillas Pineda, Secretary of Tourism; the project’s investment partners; and Antonio Fermoso Beltrán, the development director.
