The Government of Nuevo León, through the Ministry of Tourism in coordination with the Ministry of Culture and Conarte, inaugurated the exhibition of the new Nuevo León 2025 Photography Contest, a joint initiative with Nikon Mexico that seeks to strengthen cultural identity, promote citizen participation, and showcase local talent.
The exhibition is located in the Nuevo León Photo Library and features the winning and selected works from the contest, which this year received more than 320 photographs from approximately 110 participants in five categories: Identity and Pride; Nuevo León Scenery; Nuevo León Personality; Traditions and Culture; and Nuevo León Innovation.
The exhibition is part of the state government’s initiative to showcase the state’s rich cultural, natural, and historical heritage from the perspective of its own community, within the framework of strategies leading up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
During the opening ceremony, the Secretary of Tourism, Maricarmen Martínez Villarreal, emphasized that the competition provides a platform to recognize local talent and promote a contemporary vision of Nuevo León.
Also participating were the Secretary of Culture, Melissa Segura Guerrero, and the General Director of Nikon Mexico, José Santana, as well as the winners and representatives from the cultural and creative sectors.
The competition revived the initiative held in 2019 and 2020, and this year it was relaunched with a focus aligned with the state’s priorities of cultural identity, sustainable tourism, innovation, and social participation.
