Yucatán continues to see an annual increase in cases of acute alcohol poisoning registered in the state, according to the most recent data from the National Epidemiological Surveillance System (Sinave) corresponding to the end of 2025.
So far this year, 314 cases have been confirmed, a figure that represents a 27 percent increase compared to 2024, when 227 people were affected by this condition.
Only one new case was reported during the last week, although authorities do not rule out the possibility that the number could increase in the coming days.
The official report indicates that men account for the majority of cases, representing approximately 85 percent of the total accumulated in the state.
This trend has been consistent in state records and reflects a greater risk in this sector of the population.
Given this situation, the importance of avoiding excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages was reiterated, since acute alcohol intoxication can lead to serious complications and even be fatal for those who suffer from it.
