The Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) reported that Mazatlán, Sinaloa, registered a 14.4% increase in hotel occupancy during November 2025, compared to the same month in 2024, according to data presented by Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, head of the agency, as part of the destination’s annual tourism report.
The head of the agency highlighted that this growth reflects a greater influx of visitors and the sustained recovery of the tourism sector in the destination.
During the holiday season, Mazatlán received 12% more tourists, which had a positive impact on hotels, restaurants, and tourist areas.
Furthermore, in November 2025, 79,000 additional tourists arrived compared to the same month last year, directly boosting hotel occupancy and economic activity in the port.
The port of Mazatlán also experienced a significant increase in cruise ship arrivals. From January to October 2025, Mazatlán received 253,309 cruise ships, averaging around 25,000 visitors per month.
In total, 112 cruise ship arrivals were recorded, generating an economic impact of over 637 million pesos, which benefited various sectors linked to local tourism.
During 2025, 690,000 passengers arrived in Mazatlán via 5,114 scheduled flights, making the port one of the most accessible destinations on the Mexican Pacific coast.
In addition, the opening of seven new domestic air routes facilitated the arrival of more than 79,000 additional tourists, expanding the flow of visitors to the Sinaloa port.
According to the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), tourist arrivals and hotel occupancy in Mazatlán show sustained growth, solidifying the Sinaloa port as an attractive destination for both domestic and international visitors.
