The Guadalajara City Council, through its Departments of Sports and Health, inaugurated new healthy cycling routes this weekend. This initiative is part of the Local Plan for Healthy Urban Routes, designed to promote physical activity and health among residents.

This cycling program, created in collaboration with the Guadalajara Triathlon Club, Alcarreña Cycling Club, and with the participation of the Bike Time club, includes five mountain bike/gravel routes and four road cycling routes, all circular and starting and finishing at the Glorieta de los Valles (Bicycle Roundabout).

During the inauguration ceremony, information panels for the routes were presented in the company of members of the Bike Time Club, Alcarreña Cycling Club, and TriGuada.

The Councilor for Sports, Armengol Engonga, emphasized that “with these routes, we continue to strive for a more active and healthy city. We want Guadalajara to be a benchmark for outdoor sports, offering safe and suitable options for all levels.”

These new routes complement the existing walking trails and orienteering courses, strengthening a project that is part of the Spanish Network of Healthy Cities (RECS).

Each route has been designed to adapt to different levels and needs, and features a multi-repair station at the starting point to address any mechanical issues.
