To deliver support directly to those who work the land, the Governor of Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, met with producers from the community of Refugio de Peñuelas, where she announced the 2026 calls for applications for agricultural support programs, designed to strengthen rural production and back the daily efforts of the agricultural sector.

During the meeting, the Governor announced that all the requirements for accessing these programs will be available in the coming days. These programs include more than 20 calls for applications, which will be open from February 2nd to April 30th, ensuring that no one is left out and that the support reaches those who need it most.

“I am very pleased that we are gathered here. Know that we are here to support and stand by you; that is why we are bringing you these programs to help you.” We have more than 20 calls for applications that will be open from February 2nd to April 30th, stated Tere Jiménez, reiterating her commitment to the agricultural sector and the families that depend on it.

Through the Secretariat of Rural and Agribusiness Development (Sedrae), the programs will prioritize applications that could not be processed last year, as well as rural women and the most disadvantaged producers in the livestock, agriculture, and agribusiness sectors.

On behalf of the community, Laura Esperanza Reyes Macías, commissioner of Refugio de Peñuelas, thanked the governor for addressing the community’s requests and for the support that has improved the quality of life for its residents.

Our sincerest gratitude for the support we have received, such as the repair of the rural road connecting Refugio de Peñuelas and Buenavista with the communities of El Cedazo and San Antonio de Peñuelas, as well as the various forms of assistance that have reached our communities since the beginning of your administration. Each one represents much more than a material benefit; they represent the trust and commitment of a government that listens to and responds to its people.

For his part, the head of the Ministry of Rural Development and Agriculture (SEDRAE), Isidoro Armendáriz, highlighted Governor Tere Jiménez’s sensitivity and commitment to the needs of the agricultural sector, as well as her constant willingness to listen to producers and provide real solutions. He also emphasized that none of the procedures require intermediaries; all are free and easily accessible, and must be carried out directly at the SEDRAE offices, located at Avenida Adolfo López Mateos Oriente No. 1509, in the Bona Gens subdivision, in the capital city.

He explained that the programs to be launched this year are geared towards the marketing of local agricultural products, with the goal of reaching international markets; the efficient use of water through irrigation modernization, rainwater harvesting, and the maintenance and rehabilitation of irrigation ditches.

Regarding plant and animal health, efforts will focus on disease prevention in crops and livestock. The programs also include temporary employment initiatives, seed distribution, support with fertilizer and compost, and improvements to farm-to-market roads, which will facilitate the sale and distribution of agricultural products.

He stated that the calls for applications will be disseminated through digital platforms, social media, and other media outlets, ensuring that the entire rural population has equal access to support.

Heriberto Gallegos Serna, president of the Agricultural Development Commission of the State Congress, and Alma Hilda Medina Macías, local representative, were present at the meeting. Juan José Pavón Romo, general director of the Aguascalientes Financing System (SIFIA), and José Alfredo Gallo Camacho, general coordinator of Delegations of the Municipality of Aguascalientes.
