Motorists traveling on the Doctor Mora-San Miguel de Allende state highway alerted the public to the constant robberies committed at any time of day by unidentified individuals.

According to affected drivers, the most recent incident occurred near the community of El Salitre, in the municipality of Iturbide, where their vehicle was damaged by a gunshot.

Fortunately, no one in the vehicle was injured. However, they emphasized that these types of crimes are frequent on the state highway, where in some cases, the thieves even steal their victims’ vehicles.

Taking advantage of the fact that the Doctor Mora-San Miguel de Allende section of the state highway has very little police presence, and in some stretches, no police presence at all, motorists traveling on it are at risk of being robbed at any time of day.

Therefore, they urged the general public to take necessary precautions when traveling on this state highway to avoid becoming victims of robbery.

Furthermore, they suggested that the police authorities of the municipality of San José de Iturbide should implement frequent patrols or even station a unit there to increase their presence and deter these types of incidents as much as possible, they concluded.
