Mayor Leo Montañez promotes the rich cultural and culinary heritage of the region through events like the Tamale Festival, where dozens of families enjoyed a wide variety of tamales.
The 2026 Tamale Festival took place in the Guadalupe Garden, where sweet and savory tamales, wrapped in corn husks and banana leaves, were offered by 20 talented vendors.
In addition, awards were presented to vendors, and there were dance and music performances, as well as a master class on making mesquite tamales.
