Last Friday, January 30, in an extraordinary public session of the city council, chaired by Mayor Paz del Alma Ochoa Amador, the 11th City Council of Loreto unanimously approved the allocation of special funds to cover the salaries of 26 teacher monitors during the 2026 fiscal year.
After analyzing the proposal presented by the mayor, the council authorized the allocation of 3,744,000 pesos to support these education professionals who provide specialized attention and guidance to an equal number of children in Loreto who require this support.
During the session, Mayor Paz Ochoa clarified that the City Council’s role is to provide the financial support, while the designation of the teacher monitors and the beneficiaries is the responsibility of the Unit of Support Services for Regular Education (USAER) of the Ministry of Public Education.
For their part, the members of the Honorable City Council expressed their full support for this measure, considering it a profoundly humane and fundamental action to guarantee a quality education with adequate support for students, especially those whose families lack the resources to cover these types of specialized services.
With this decision, the 11th City Council of Loreto reaffirms its commitment to inclusive education, working in coordination with families and educational institutions to build a more just and humane future with equal opportunities, where the children who need it most are a priority.
