The Monarca Fest Zitácuaro 2026, formerly known as the Monarca Fair, is almost here. According to the mayor of the Michoacán region, the festivities will run from Thursday, February 5th to Sunday, February 22nd.

Fortunately, we are already in the midst of celebrations in various parts of Mexico, such as the Carnival in Chetumal and its shows featuring El Malilla, Nelson Kanzela, and Reik.

The mayor of Zitácuaro, Antonio Ixtláhuac, spoke with the hosts of the program ‘Todo para la mujer’ about the importance of this event.

“We have slightly changed the name from the Monarca Fair to Monarca Fest. It is a tradition that dates back to the 19th century, when the Virgin of Los Remedios, the patron saint of our land, was recognized and celebrated. This festival continues to be celebrated, starting on February 5th and ending on the 22nd,” the mayor stated initially.

“The fair is going to be very popular. Today it’s leaning more towards folk music, because it’s going to be very regional Mexican. ‘Pequeños Musical’ and ‘Banda Jerez’ were already with us last Friday,” the mayor stated on the program hosted by Maxine Woodside.

The concert schedule for this event is already set at the Arena Heróica and the Teatro del Pueblo. If you go, you’ll also find cultural activities, a food court, and more.
