Point Gallery will host this multidisciplinary event promoted by Ruido Femenino and Sirenas Negras Mazatlán.
Music, art, and collective creation will meet this Sunday, February 22 in Mazatlan with Sirenas Ruidosas, an event organized by the collectives Ruido Femenino and Sirenas Negras Mazatlán that seeks to open spaces for women artists and strengthen the cultural community from a collaborative perspective.
The activity will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. at Point Gallery, located in the downtown area of Mazatlan, and will be open to the general public. The program includes live music, art exhibition, poetry, open microphone, and an activity table.
The initiative arises from the collaboration between Ruido Femenino, a collective made up of women performing artists from Culiacán, and Sirenas Negras Mazatlán, focused on the promotion of visual artists, photographers, and plastic creators from the port.
Andrea Osterhout, a member of Sirenas Negras Mazatlán, pointed out that in the local scene, there are still barriers to the participation of women in art.
The event will feature a musical line-up made up of Reletias, Montse Lez, Micelio , and LAmenor, as well as poetic participations and artistic interventions. The visual exhibition will bring together works made by women artists, selected through an open call.
As part of the activities, an open microphone and participatory dynamics will also be enabled for the attending public.
Sirenas Ruidosas is presented as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and the circulation of artistic proposals created by women.
