The head of the Ministry of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, confirmed the resignation of Rogerio Castro Vázquez, although she said she was unaware of the complaints against him before the CNDH.

The head of the Ministry of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, confirmed the resignation of Rogerio Castro Vázquez at the head of the delegation in the state of Yucatan, after a series of accusations against him for mistreatment of Servants of the Nation emerged.

The delegate revealed that since Friday, February 6, she has been separated from the position. In addition, he warned that the person who will be in charge will not be from Yucatan.

Since Tuesday, February 10, it was learned that Castro Vázquez resigned at the invitation of the Secretary of Welfare, Montiel Reyes. Although in an interview he gave during his lightning visit to Yucatan, he said that he was unaware of the accusations against the now former delegate. He ruled out that there was a bad working relationship, since he only had to follow orders.

“I never have conflicts with those who are under my command because we give instructions and they comply with them, we are fine in that sense. Since Friday, we have been talking; last week, he officially notified me (…) I have not been notified of complaints of any kind, nor of a bad relationship with the workers. The reason (for the resignation) is Rogerio’s personal decision to separate from this activity,” he said.

Ariadna Montiel reported that for the moment, it will be Benito Mateo, a public servant of the central area in charge of the southeast area, who will be in charge of Bienestar Yucatán, and later a person will be appointed head who, she anticipated, will not be from Yucatan.

“When the person who will be in charge is in a position to take the position, we will let them know, there is no name from Yucatan,” he reiterated.

From Rogerio Castro Vázquez’s career, it stands out that he was a plurinominal federal deputy for Morena from 2015 to 2018. From that position, he asked for leave to be the candidate for governor of the 4 T.. Finally, he declined the assignment for Joaquín Díaz Mena, “Huacho”, current governor of Yucatán.

From 2019 to 2024, he was the Secretary General of Infonavit. And even when he no longer held this position, in January 2025, a group of beneficiaries in Yucatan blocked the offices of Infonavit and accused him of allegedly colluding with the construction companies Sucovisa and Comasa Soluciones, in addition to the financial company Yavo Capital, to allow the delivery of houses without basic services.

Rogerio Castro leaves the Ministry of Welfare with complaints against him before the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH), since former employees Roger Benjamín Caamal, Wilger Ravell, and Jorge Collí claimed that he violated their human rights as workers.
