With the goal of promoting international cooperation and generating direct benefits for citizens, the Government of Zacatecas and the Federal Republic of Germany are consolidating a joint work agenda that will boost the economic, institutional, and social development of both states.

The German Ambassador to Mexico, Clemens von Goetze, conducted a working visit to the state, during which he held several strategic meetings with state authorities and representatives of the productive sector, with the purpose of strengthening collaborative ties and continuing international cooperation projects.

As a central part of his agenda, the diplomat met with Governor David Monreal Ávila, with whom he discussed opportunities for bilateral collaboration on key issues such as economic development, innovation, foreign investment, institutional strengthening, and technical cooperation.

The Ambassador also met with the Attorney General of the State of Zacatecas to follow up on the agreements reached at the “International Cooperation Meeting for Strengthening Human Identification.” The joint commitment to strengthening technical capabilities, knowledge exchange, and international cooperation in human identification and law enforcement—priority issues for peacebuilding and access to justice—was reaffirmed.

As part of his working visit, Clemens von Goetze met with the Secretary of Economy, Jorge Miranda Castro. They discussed strategic issues related to the state’s economic development, attracting investment, strengthening value chains, and promoting Zacatecas as a competitive destination for foreign investment.

During this meeting, the importance of strengthening ties with Germany to generate new opportunities for growth, technological innovation, and business development, benefiting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, was emphasized.

The diplomat also met with the Secretaries of Tourism and Economy, LeRoy Barragán Ocampo and Jorge Miranda Castro, respectively, to discuss opportunities for promoting the state in Germany.

With this working tour, Zacatecas is advancing in the strengthening of its international relations, by consolidating strategic alliances that contribute to the integral development of the state, innovation, technical cooperation and economic growth, always with the objective of generating better living conditions for the citizens of both nations.
