Opened in April 2025, the project took a turn last December with a complete overhaul of its aesthetics and a more focused menu, now centered on Mazatlán’s seafood cuisine, with the occasional addition of products from Baja California. The chef shares his thoughts:
“Mazatlán is more than just a party. We have beautiful beaches, excellent cuisine, and a rich history; the Historic Center, for example, is stunning. We wanted to showcase that side of the city as well, because I think many people aren’t familiar with it. Mazatlán has so much to offer as a tourist destination, offering a different perspective than what people often think.”

Luzia Cocina de Mar is located a short distance from Lincoln Park. Warm colors, sandy-toned walls, and wooden furniture define the space, with elements reminiscent of the sea and details visible from the terrace, such as the eye-catching yellow fish.
Inside Luzia Cocina de Mar, a sense of connection and intimacy flows naturally. However, the preferred spot to unwind is the terrace, framed by planters where a small garden grows, providing ingredients like rosemary and oregano, while olive trees seem to act as a protective barrier against the city’s hustle and bustle. Whetting your appetite is easy with the new wine list, featuring around 18 Mexican labels, and the complimentary marlin pâté.

Luzia Cocina de Mar
With the tranquility found on the terrace of Luzia Cocina de Mar, it’s time to explore the new menu, focused on seafood and featuring around 20 dishes. In every dish, the stars are the fish and seafood with full traceability. The chef explains that the intention is to respect the product and showcase its flavors unaltered, without resorting to sauces or dressings that mask them: “We work with certified suppliers; sometimes from Mazatlán, sometimes from Ensenada. At the same time, we respect seasons and closed seasons,” he explains.
The tasting menu begins with appetizers like the crab croquettes, small and enveloping, where the contrast between the warm interior with the potato and the protein is balanced by a truffle mayonnaise. The tuna tostadas stand out for their crispy texture and a light smokiness thanks to the house-made macha salsa, while the gobernador tacos are emerging as one of the signature dishes: the fried tortillas resemble fish tails accompanied by plenty of guacamole.
Perfect for celebrating and sharing
Among the main courses, the scallop and truffle oil risotto stands out, prioritizing smoothness and aroma. The catch of the day also takes center stage; this time, the grilled red snapper arrived with refried beans and flour tortillas brought from Guadalajara. For those looking for something spicy, the aguachile is served with small, folded, and fried bean tacos. Finally, any sweet craving can be satisfied with the Mazatlán-style coyota (a type of sweet pastry) accompanied by popcorn ice cream or the dark chocolate cake.
