A large police presence was reported Friday afternoon near the General Hospital following an armed robbery in the city.

According to unofficial reports, the victim was a businessman who was intercepted by individuals on an FT-type motorcycle after leaving the shopping center. The alleged perpetrators reportedly stole a high-end Rolex watch from him and then fled the scene.

After committing the robbery at Plaza Las Américas, the suspects headed towards the General Hospital, where they abandoned the motorcycle in the parking lot. This prompted the deployment of between five and seven patrol cars from the FRIM (Rapid Intervention Force), whose officers launched a search operation in the area.

Witnesses indicated that, despite the deployment, the alleged perpetrators managed to escape. One person even reported seeing a man walking with a helmet in his hand, but authorities did not stop him at that time.

So far, authorities have not released official information about arrests or confirmed the exact amount stolen.
