Villahermosa-Mérida route relaunched with three weekly flights

On the afternoon of Tuesday, March 3, an Aerus plane landed at the “Carlos Manuel Rovirosa Pérez” International Airport in Villahermosa, marking the relaunch of the Villahermosa-Mérida route. This new connection will have three weekly flights, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with the goal of strengthening economic, tourism, and social integration between the two states, Tabasco and Yucatán.

During the presentation of the new route, Pablo Carranco Romero, Aerus’ marketing manager, emphasized that the connection between Villahermosa and Mérida will not only boost business activity and tourism but will also facilitate the flow of travelers for corporate, family, and leisure purposes. The executive also highlighted that the Aerus fleet is one of the most modern in Mexico, with an average age of three years.

Flights will depart from Villahermosa to Mérida at 6:00 PM, arriving at 7:50 PM, while the return flight from Mérida to Villahermosa will depart at 8:20 PM, arriving at 10:10 PM. The ticket price will be 1,780 pesos. The aircraft operating this route are Cessna Grand Caravan EX models.

Víctor Francisco Ballinas, administrator of the Villahermosa International Airport, expressed his satisfaction with the reopening of this air connection, which represents an opportunity to strengthen the regional economy and the tourism sector. He also noted that these routes are a source of dignified employment and an engine for local economies, opening new doors to international connectivity.

Special guests from the business sector and municipal authorities were present at the inauguration event, and they all agreed on the importance of this type of project in bringing Mexican families closer together and boosting the region’s growth.
