Yucatán successfully concluded its participation in the 45th edition of the Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (ANATO) 2026 Tourism Showcase, the most important event in the sector in Colombia and one of the most significant in Latin America. Held in Bogotá, the event featured an intensive work agenda aimed at promoting the state in new international markets.
The Secretary of Tourism Development, Darío Flota Ocampo, led the Yucatán delegation along with the Undersecretary of Tourism Promotion, Elizabeth Cole Guerrero, with whom he conducted meetings with key players in the South American tourism sector.
As part of the results, 17 business appointments were secured, including a meeting with 10 tour operators from Colombia and 20 interviews with national and international media outlets. These actions helped position Yucatán as an ideal destination for the South American market, especially for travelers interested in gastronomic, cultural, nature, and adventure tourism.
The focus of the event was market diversification, with the goal of strengthening the state’s presence in South America and generating new marketing opportunities.
Each meeting highlighted the vibrant cultural richness, the range of authentic experiences, and the high-quality tourism infrastructure that distinguish the destination.
In addition to direct promotion, opportunities for new air connections between Yucatán and Colombia were explored, a strategic step to facilitate the flow of visitors and strengthen regional connectivity.
The 2016 edition of the Anato Tourism Showcase, held from February 25 to 27, brought together 56,000 industry professionals and facilitated over 26,900 business appointments through its official platform, representing a 13% increase over the previous year and confirming the importance of this event for forging high-impact business alliances.
With its participation in this international forum, Yucatán consolidates its presence in Latin America and reaffirms its commitment to expanding its global reach, in accordance with the vision of the Government of the Mayan Renaissance to promote solid, diversified tourism development with direct benefits for the people of Yucatán.
