The “Nayarit Theater Festival on the Road” was presented this Thursday at the Autonomous University of Nayarit (UAN) as a key initiative to bring the performing arts to a greater number of communities in the state. This cultural event, which seeks to strengthen Nayarit’s artistic life, will take place with completely free activities from March 18 to 21 of this year.

The festival’s organization is the result of a significant collaboration between the Autonomous University of Nayarit, the Nayarit State Council for Culture and the Arts (CECAN), and the San Pedro Lagunillas City Council. This joint effort’s main goal is to bring theater to new audiences, transcending traditional circuits and fostering citizen participation in the cultural sphere.

During the press conference, it was highlighted that the festival coincides with the celebration of World Theater Day, a significant date for the performing arts globally. The organizers emphasized that accessibility is a fundamental pillar of this edition, allowing the public to enjoy high-quality performances free of charge.

The program is expected to include a variety of works and performances that promote artistic dialogue and enrich the local cultural landscape. The communities benefiting from these presentations will have the opportunity to experience theater and its capacity to reflect realities, inspire, and entertain.

The Government of the State of Nayarit and the participating institutions reaffirm their commitment to cultural promotion and the development of initiatives that make the region’s artistic wealth accessible to everyone, consolidating Nayarit as an active and dynamic cultural hub. The official festival program will be disseminated through the communication channels of the UAN and the participating institutions.
