The government of Yucatán confirmed the arrival of a new industrial investment aimed at boosting the state’s economic development. Ultimate Solar Advanced Technology (USAT) will build a plant in Kanasín, with a total investment of 2.43 billion pesos.

The project anticipates the creation of approximately 1,000 direct jobs, primarily in technical and engineering fields, with competitive salaries. Construction will be carried out in two phases; the first phase will allocate more than 1.5 billion pesos for the initial development of the plant, focused on manufacturing components for the solar industry.

The plant, backed by Mexican and Canadian capital, will also generate an indirect impact by stimulating related services such as logistics, transportation, maintenance, and technology.

According to reports, the facility will be unique in Latin America and will have the capacity to produce components equivalent to one gigawatt of solar energy annually, reinforcing Yucatán’s role in the transition to clean energy.

State authorities indicated that these types of projects consolidate the state’s industrial growth and strengthen its competitiveness at the national and international levels.
