The Black Hawk helicopter carrying the Secretary of Public Security, Óscar Alberto Aparicio Avendaño, and his companions ripped roofing sheets off houses during a landing in the community of Zaragoza, in the highlands of Tapachula.
A video circulating on social media shows the aircraft, acquired by the government to combat crime in Chiapas, tearing off the roofs of rural homes and endangering residents.
The sheets were ripped off by the powerful gusts of wind from the helicopter. The sheets were thrown onto nearby houses, and some landed on the landing field.
Experts commented that this type of air navigation violates civil aviation regulations and established safety protocols.
Secretary Aparicio Avendaño, other security officials, and members of his staff disembarked from the helicopter.
On social media, the Secretary of Public Security was criticized for this action and accused of using the Black Hawk helicopter as an air taxi for his personal use and that of his entourage.
“This is what helicopters are good for, just for officials to ride around. Not even the president or Harfuch use them anymore; they travel in vehicles,” one user wrote.
Aparicio Avendaño has been embroiled in accusations after members of the Pakal Immediate Reaction Force, “Los Pakales,” allegedly appeared on the payroll of the slain drug lord Nemesio Oceguera, “El Mencho.”
According to his asset declaration, the Secretary of Public Security is listed as the owner of a collection of classic cars, which he acquired at prices up to 90% lower than their usual value.
