Two men arrested in Sonora with vehicle stolen in the United States

Two men were arrested in possession of a vehicle reported stolen internationally, the State Public Security Police reported.

In a statement, they detailed that the arrest took place on the Federal Highway between Santa Ana and Altar, as part of ongoing surveillance and crime-fighting operations.

The Border Operations Division of the State Public Security Police (PESP) worked in conjunction with members of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) and the Secretariat of National Defense (Defensa).

The detainees are Jorge “N.”, 36, and Benjamín “N.”, also 36. A check of the vehicle’s information, a 2019 Kia, in which they were traveling, confirmed that it had been reported stolen in San Diego, California.

The detainees and the seized vehicle were placed at the disposal of the corresponding authority for the continuation of the corresponding investigations, in accordance with the law.
