Cleanup Begins After the Big Beach Party
Public Works crews are currently cleaning Miramar Beach in Ciudad Madero following Friday’s big beach party, which drew 75,000 visitors.
The head of the department, Gerardo Soto, indicated that the cleanup began at 6:00 a.m. this Saturday and that the main type of waste is glass bottles. He added that they have collected approximately 40 tons of trash so far, filling 10 garbage trucks. He said they expect to finish the cleanup in about an hour.
As of 11:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, the top tourist destination in Tamaulipas had attracted 75,000 visitors. This was reported by Erasmo González Robledo, mayor of Ciudad Madero.
“The holiday season kicked off with over 75,000 visitors this Friday at the beach party, marking the start of the 2026 Easter holiday period.”
In the midst of the lively beach party atmosphere at Miramar Beach, two young men stole the show by dressing up as Penta El Zero Miedo and Psycho Clown.
Walking along the coastal boulevard among the crowd, their masks and eye-catching outfits stood out amidst the nighttime festivities, where families and friends enjoyed themselves with loud music and long lines of cars.
Their presence added a fun and distinctly Mexican touch to the beach party, turning the night into a spectacle beyond the boxing ring.
A man fell and lost consciousness on the pavement, reportedly while drinking alcohol, on the Miramar Beach coastal boulevard. The fall resulted in a minor dislocation, and he was treated at the scene by Mexican Red Cross personnel.
The second incident involved a woman who was carried in by her family, reportedly unconscious. Paramedics attended to her, and she was taken to the emergency room for evaluation.
Miramar Boulevard Closed for “Rodeo Clown” Dance
To the rhythm of “Rodeo Clown,” a section of the Miramar beach coastal boulevard was temporarily closed for the traditional dance that takes place every year.
The young people enjoying themselves on the popular tourist promenade stopped traffic to use the street as a dance floor, and once the song ended, they reopened the road to vehicles. “Rodeo Clown” is a classic at the beach, and it couldn’t be missed in 2026.
The clock hands keep ticking as people continue to arrive in their cars, trucks, and motorcycles, making traffic even heavier. Those arriving on foot walk from the “Mermaids” monument to viewpoint 2, where a large crowd has already gathered; others head towards the breakwater.
Security patrols continue to patrol the coastal boulevard, ensuring the safety of those present and maintaining order.
Traffic officers removed vehicles and motorcycles parked on the median of the coastal boulevard after this practice began to cause obstructions and traffic hazards.
This action is part of the operation to maintain traffic order in the face of the high influx of visitors to the area, where vehicular traffic continues to increase.
As evening falls, the coastal boulevard begins to become congested as hundreds of visitors arrive seeking to secure a spot near the beach. The flow of traffic intensifies, and due to the lack of available spaces, some drivers opt to park their vehicles even on the central median.
The atmosphere is becoming increasingly festive, with music emanating from cars, groups of young people walking between the lanes, and families settling in the surrounding area. Traffic slows down in several sections, while traffic officers try to maintain order and prevent incidents.
Warning about possible jellyfish presence at Miramar Beach
The Mexican Red Cross issued an alert to visitors of Miramar Beach about the possible presence of jellyfish, a phenomenon that can increase with changes in sea conditions.
The coordinator of the emergency response area in Ciudad Madero, Juan Antonio Sánchez, explained that factors such as cold fronts can stir up the seabed, causing these organisms to reach the shore.
