The Chiapas State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported the disappearance of six young women in Tuxtla Gutiérrez through a Facebook post sharing their missing person posters.

The missing women are Paola and Lucía Jiménez Ocampo, 22 and 20 years old respectively; María Fernanda Cruz López and María del Carmen Solano Cobo, both 16 years old; Esmeralda Gómez López, 14 years old; and Paola Anahí Ton Méndez, 15 years old.

According to local media, the six disappeared from a group home located in the Calvarium neighborhood, although the circumstances of their disappearance are unknown.

On March 23, the disappearance of seven electricians in the municipality of Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, was reported. They had gone missing two days earlier. However, they were found alive later that same day under circumstances that remain unclear.

Following this case, the director of the Municipal Police, Jorge Eduardo “N,” was arrested for alleged drug-related offenses.

In a brief statement on social media, the Civil Guard of the State of San Luis Potosí detailed that the Matehuala police chief was found in possession of 52 bags of marijuana and three bags of crystal meth.

Local media outlets indicate that Pablo Ernesto “N” is linked to the kidnapping of the seven electricians reported missing on March 21 and found alive two days later.

Allegedly, Pablo Ernesto “N” ordered the workers’ abduction as a means of pressuring the contractor to pay 30% of the contract value and allow them to work in the area, according to local media reports.
