Civil protection authorities reported that a Purple Alert was activated in Pachuca this Saturday due to strong winds that could reach gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour in the city.
According to the warning issued by Mayor Jorge Reyes, the expected weather conditions pose a risk to the population, mainly due to the potential for falling objects, branches, or structures that are not securely fastened.
Given this situation, the emergency services system urged the residents of Pachuca to take extreme precautions and follow a series of preventative recommendations to avoid incidents.
Among the suggested measures is securing objects on rooftops, balconies, or patios, as the strong winds could dislodge them and cause accidents in public areas.
Likewise, residents of Pachuca were asked to avoid being near trees, utility poles, billboards, or other structures that could become unstable due to the predicted wind gusts.
Authorities also recommended that, as much as possible, people stay home and avoid burning trash or grasslands, as the wind could spread the fire and create dangerous situations.
The activation of this alert is part of the preventative protocols implemented in Pachuca when weather conditions pose a potential danger to the population.
In case of an emergency or incident related to strong gusts of wind in Pachuca, residents can report it by calling 911 or the local number 771 711 0707, where specialized personnel will provide assistance and coordinate the necessary support.
Authorities reiterated their call for the residents of Pachuca to stay informed through official channels.
